How is cable squared calculated

The square of a cable can be calculated in a variety of ways, including by diameter, cross-sectional area, and multiple strands. When selecting a cable, you can select it according to the working current and voltage. The copper core wire can carry 1-1.5 kilowatts per square meter, and the aluminum money can carry 0.6-1KW per square meter.


There are many ways to calculate the square of the cable, including calculation according to the diameter, calculation according to the cross-sectional area, calculation according to the multi-strand line. Here are three ways to do it:


Knowing the square of the cable can be verified by calculating its diameter or radius. The square of the wire (square millimeters) = PI (3.14) x the square of the wire radius (millimeters). If you know the diameter of the wire, you can also use the diameter to calculate the square of the wire, the square number of the wire (square millimeters) = PI (3.14) x the square of the diameter of the wire / 4.


The size of the cable is also nominal in square meters, and the multiple strands are the sum of the cross-sectional area of each wire. The formula for calculating the cross-sectional area of the cable is 0.7854 x the square of the radius of the cable and wire (mm) x the number of strands. For example, 48 strands (0.2 mm per cable wire radius) of 1.5 square lines: 0.7854 x (0.2 x 0.2) x 48=1.5 square meters.


The square of the cable can also be calculated by measuring its cross section, for example, if the diameter of 1.76 line, is 1.76÷2×3.14=2.76 square meters ≈2.5 square meters, (take the natural number). If it is a single core, you can measure its diameter, and then get the radius, according to the area formula S= radius 3.14 formula calculated as S= radius 3.14*N, where N is the total number of twisted into this cable!


In addition, when selecting the cable, it can be selected according to the required operating current and voltage. For example, when the working voltage of the power network is 380V, the working experience of the power consumption per square meter of cable is about one kilowatt. The copper core wire can carry 1-1.5 kilowatts per square meter, and the aluminum money can carry 0.6-1KW per square meter.
