SMT processing process

1.Silk screen printing

The front end of the SMT line is the screen printing machine, which is mainly used to print solder paste or patch glue onto the PCB pad in preparation for the welding of components.

2.Dispensing

Located in the front of the SMT production line or the equipment behind the detection machine is the dispensing machine, its main role is to glue drops to the PCB fixed position, the purpose is to fix the components to the PCB board.

3. Soldering

The device located behind the screen printing machine in the SMT line is the mount machine, whose function is to accurately mount the surface assembly components to the fixed position of the PCB

4.Curing

The equipment behind the SMT machine in the SMT production line is the curing furnace, the main role is to melt the patch glue, so that the surface assembly components and PCB board firmly bonded together.

5. Reflow welding

Located behind the SMT machine in the SMT production line is the reflow welding furnace, the main function is to melt the solder paste, so that the surface assembly components and PCB board firmly bonded together.

6.Detection

In order to ensure that the assembled PCB board meets the factory requirements for welding quality and assembly quality, it is necessary to use magnifying glass, microscope, on-line tester (ICT), flying needle tester, automatic optical inspection (AOI), X-RAY inspection system and other equipment. The main function is to detect whether the PCB board has defects such as welding, welding leakage and cracks.

7.Repair

Check the faulty PCB and repair it. Generally using soldering iron or in the repair station for processing. Can be configured anywhere in the production line.

8. Cleaning

The assembled PCB board may contain welding residues such as flux that are harmful to human body, which need to be cleaned by cleaning machine.
